Beibei Pumpkin (Mini Kabocha) was originally bred in Japan in 1998 and introduced to China in 2002. Known for its small size (approx. 0.3kg) and unique flavor profile, it is often called the Gold Silk Chestnut Pumpkin.
It features a dark green peel and deep orange flesh. When cooked, it offers a soft, glutinous texture with a natural sweetness and nutty aroma very similar to chestnuts. It is a nutritious choice for sports nutrition and healthy diets.
Preparation Tip: Simply microwave for 9-15 minutes or steam for a more delicate, soft texture. Delicious even without seasoning!
