Beibei pumpkin is a specialty variety bred in 1998. It is small (about 0.3kg), featuring a soft, glutinous texture and high sweetness. Often called the "Gold Silk Chestnut Pumpkin," it provides a powdery, sweet aroma similar to chestnuts. Even when steamed without seasoning, its natural flavor is sufficient to conquer any palate.
Introduced to China in 2002, the cultivation technology is now highly mature. It is incredibly easy to prepare—simply microwave for 9-15 minutes or steam for a more delicate, soft texture.
